Magan Higgins Gramling

Holistic Occupational Therapist
Certified Lymphedema Therapist
Certified Mastectomy Fitter

My name is Magan Gramling and I am an Occupational Therapist and Certified Lymphedema Therapist as well as Certified Mastectomy Fitter. I graduated from UAB in Birimgingham, AL, with a B.S. in Psychology in 2010, and a M.S. in Occupational Therapy in 2012. I have worked in multiple cities from rural Sylacauga to downtown urban Birmingham and have practiced in home health, schools, hospitals, outpatient centers, nursing homes and physician's offices.

I have been married since 2010, to my high school sweetheart and we have two young children. We also have a cat & dog  :) I am a lover of nature and believe OT is the original life coach.

I started Integrative OT in January of 2020, because I no longer felt able to deny patients holistic care that is offered so scarcely here in the south. I have practiced holistic/homeopathic/alternative/functional medicine since I was a young child and value Eastern medicine as much as Western. Traditional "white coat" medicine when used alone often doesn't cover the whole person. So, I've opted to expand the care I can give to encompass the entire scope of OT practice per our Framework (AOTA) and Practice Act (ALOTA).

I believe in treating the whole person: body, mind and spirit. Mindful living is all inclusive. The more you are mindful in your life, the more it becomes your WAY of life. The more you value mental health and spiritual well-being, the more your body will flourish and the more you'll actually want to eat more nutritionally and exercise to stay strong.

I have created Integrative OT to offer clients interested in living wholesomely and healthfully, a helping hand along the journey. Please feel free to reach out with any questions! I hope you'll stop by and see how we can work together to meet your health goals!
